How can we make an appointment?

You can call Geri’s Photography to schedule a convenient time @ 919-557-9677. You may also fill out the contact form on the site and we will respond by email.

How many poses do you take?

When photographing children, it’s important to understand that they truly control the session. The amount of images taken will always depend on the type of session being done. Geri doesn’t limit how many will be taken so be assured that regardless of the type of session, you will have an ample number to view at your presentation appointment.

What can I expect at the session?

Expect fun! You may be a little nervous at first, but our relaxed, friendly atmosphere will put you at ease in no time. As parents we know children have low tolerance for doing any one thing for too long a time. I ask you to trust me in my approach to creating the portraits you will have for a lifetime. Not all children smile on command and we can never guarantee a smile. Each child is different. Many of my very favorite images simply have a “sweet” expression on the child. Often a full smile can make a child squint so the beauty of the eyes is not seen. It's a tradeoff. I try to capture all expressions. It would be helpful to schedule your appointment around the child’s “best” time of day for a successful session.

When will we get to see the images?

After your session, we will set up a viewing appointment based on your schedule; usually within a week.

What type of clothing is right for my session?

Clothing is very important in the final outcome of your portrait and that is why we offer a no-charge consultation beforehand. For more in depth information when planning your session, please refer to the What to wear section on our site. Geri will discuss your clothing options based on the style of photography you desire before your session. Plan to bring along a few extra outfits so we can help you choose what works best.

Do I need a session consultation?

Your portrait is an investment. The key to the success of your portrait lies in spending time prior to and during the photography session talking about your needs, your desires, your fears and your objectives. The more prepared you are for your session, the easier it will be for you to be relaxed, look better and receive from us a portrait you will be proud to own or give as a gift.

What do most people invest in?

This is totally your decision. There is a $400 minimum purchase, unless otherwise noted in special collection pricing. After which you can purchase as little or as much as you want. We offer ala carte pricing and special package pricing as well. All images are chosen by you. Geri will guide you as our advice is always free! No pressure.

How do I receive the portraits?

Every portrait comes mounted to sturdy artboard for additional durability and longevity. Smaller gift sizes are gold edged by hand for a look you can't get anywhere else. Your portraits are enclosed in protective plastic, gift boxed, and ready to be framed.

Do my portraits come with frames?

Because some clients have their own frames picked out, they are not included with your portraits. If you haven't decided on frames yet, be sure to check out our selection, all very reasonably priced. Our frame prices include mounting in the frame, all the hanging hardware, and dust cover backing at no extra charge. We do all the work so you don't have to!
